Greetings from Finland, hope you can help.
I have an US vw mfd2 head unit. I can't input addresses with european maps (V5), "input destination" button is gray and disabled.
Is there any way I can flash this to be EU version?

Hello,
please try to contact audioslave36, a friend of him has also a US MFD2
They flashed the unit in the tuner mode (from 200kHz steps to 100kHz steps) to receive several Radiostations in Germany.
Maybe he can help you to switch the navigation also to EU Version.

My unit already had European radio mode enabled, It was like that when I fitted it into my 2007 Touran. I think it is a US unit, I will try to get my navi part number here, can you tell from that is it a US or EU version?

sorry i can´t tell you the different by the numbers which is EU and which is US - but maybe google can do it. 
Get in the Item Part No. and look what will result.
I hope you can read my school english from ´86

As far as I know the firmware must be flashed with the EU version VWMFD2DVDEU0030
|

You can just run the Update according to the enclosed VW instructions

Navi won't let me update as you can see, I accessed with vag-com to "radio" and "navigation" both give different part number, witch one is head unit part number?

If you google the part numbers you will come across numerous (US) sites
Some may be helpfull
